Volunteer of the Quarter

Colin Haydu was an intern last summer with Floresta’s Oaxaca partner (Mision Integral) writing reports, translating, and coordinating mission trips. His assistance was invaluable in assuring that all of our summer mission trips went smoothly. It was Colin’s third consecutive visit to Oaxaca, where the children love his kindness, playfulness and warm personality. 

One of his favorite Oaxacan delicacies is “chapulines” (the fried grasshoppers which some Floresta folks might remember seeing displayed at last year’s Banquet at Sea World!)

We are very blessed to know Colin. His devout faith in Jesus and commitment to excellence is admirable. Colin was valedictorian at La Jolla High in 2002 and attended La Jolla Presbyterian Church throughout his high school years. He is currently an urban missionary in Chicago with Mission Year (www.missionyear.org) and will attend Harvard next fall.
