Greenhouses in Mexico
Community greenhouses allow farmers to produce a wider variety of crops, greatly improving family nutrition and even creating food surpluses so that families can sell their crops and generate extra revenue.  Greater financial security helps families to stay together by relieving the need for men to seek work elsewhere.

Agroforestry loans in the Dominican Republic
Floresta’s loan program in the Dominican Republic has already empowered thousands of rural farmers to restore their land and provide their families with nutritious food.  With these loans, farmers can utilize innovative agriculture techniques that increase their income and improve their land’s productivity, an investment that will reap rewards for generations to come.

Sheep Projects in Mexico
Sheep play a vital role in the Oaxacan communities.  Not only do these animals provide milk, dairy products and wool, they serve as a living savings account and can be sold in case of emergencies or unexpected expenses.  All of these benefits substantially decrease the vulnerability of many rural farmers who otherwise face a daily struggle to survive.

Watershed reforestation in Haiti
Watersheds are the lifeblood for communities; when a watershed is destroyed the problems seem endless.  Erosion, poor water quality, decreased crop yield, and landslides are all exacerbated by deforestation.  Floresta Haiti is working to reforest watersheds to breathe life and safety back into communities that live off the land.  You can make the difference for these farmers and help them restore their land so they can live—and thrive—on their precious land.
