Floresta Program Elements and Policy for Working with International Partners
-
Program goals include both economic growth for the subsistence farmer and the restoration of the environment
-
All participants are afforded opportunities to hear the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ if they so desire, but there is no obligation or coercion involved.
-
The program uses sound business-based economic principles to motivate farmers to change their practices.
-
Floresta begins with community development and training programs.
-
Where possible the program makes use of medium and short term loans.
-
When products are ready, Floresta offers assistance in taking advantage of the local and global marketplace.
-
The program is administered and carried out primarily by citizens of the countries in which we are working.
Floresta USA will be an active participant in the program design and implementation. Floresta and its partner organization will mutually define accountability requirements and timetables. Periodically Floresta USA and eventually the proposed Floresta International Assembly, will evaluate program performance and the status of the relationship.
Note: Floresta does not have the resources to respond to unsolicited grant or partnership requests.
